It’s Opening Night, but Buck Davidson and Doug Anderson are still playing in the sandlot. This week they have company in the person of The All-in Kid, Jake Ciely.
Craig Kimbrel Traded to San Diego
The three of them gave their first impressions of the trade that saw Craig Kimbrel and Melvin (don’t call me BJ) Upton headed to the suddenly competitive San Diego Padres, for Cameron Maybin, Carlos Quentin, and a couple of promising minor leaguers. Who closes in Atlanta, and does the value of Craig Kimbrel change with the move to a better team? Is Maybin someone we need to be paying attention to?
Jake then shared how he’s dealing with the rash of injuries that has befallen his Mixed LABR League team, and how other Fantasy owners can address similar situations. Doug was very sympathetic and wished Jake the best… or something like that.
Spring Training Risers and Fallers
Finally the guys look at players whose stock has either risen or fallen during Spring Training. Should we be worried about Anthony Rendon’s knee injury? Are TaiJuan Walker and Michael Pineda as good as they’ve looked this spring? Is Steven Souza really this bad?
Also on the docket are two sources of speed at second base that just might be available on your waiver wire and a young fireballer who will try to pull a Jose Fernandez.
