Welcome back to the three value plays at running back for Week 10. Week 9 had us looking at some default values with backup running backs getting the nod due to injuries. Two of the three value picks were great values and both were backups.
The value picks of Jeremy Langford (23.7 points) and DeAngelo Williams (37.5 points) should have been home runs in your lineups this past week while Jeremy Hill struggled mightily in what appeared to be a fantastic matchup (5.7 points).
The avoiding of last week’s three worked out, especially with Lacy. However, seeing the numbers from the cheaper options above made avoiding them fine: Latavius Murray (8.5 points), Eddie Lacy (-1 points) and T.J. Yeldon (11.6 points).
Also, a reminder that I am not encouraging using two of my three picks each week as much as targeting one running back and avoiding others each week as you build your lineups.
With that I wish you all the best of luck, and encourage you to stay tuned for Levi Serfoss’ and my own DFS picks and lineups later in the week if you want targets, or roster construction help on socalledfantasyexperts.com and even on Twitter.
Week 10 Daily Fantasy Football: 3 FanDuel Value Plays at RB
1. Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Dallas Cowboys ($6,700)
Saying Martin had a terrible performance last week would be an understatement. This week looks to be a better matchup but nothing is for certain. I would be willing to plug Martin in as my second RB at this price with the hope he is highly motivated and will be a larger part of the offense this week.
(Week 9 FanDuel Points: 3.3 /FPPG: 13.5 )
2. Justin Forsett, Baltimore Ravens vs Jacksonville Jaguars ($7,100)
Forsett is once again in my value backs list. This week’s matchup is much more appealing and I think Forsett will meet value this week. At this price, and with the potential to catch passes as well as do damage on the ground in an injury-plagued offense, I will dive in once again.
(Week 9 FanDuel Points: 7.9 / FPPG: 12 )
3. Darren McFadden, Dallas Cowboys @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($7,000)
McFadden had another game where he carried the full burden of the workload for the Dallas offense. This week should be more of the same and Dallas will be looking to grind away on the Bucs defense. Nice value once again this week.
(Week 9 FanDuel Points: 12.7 / FPPG: 10.7 )
3 Running Backs to Avoid on FanDuel
1. Chris Ivory, New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills ($7,000)
Ivory racked up 18.3 points in Week 9 which is solid for sure, but he only actually racked up 26 yards on 23 carries. That was against Jacksonville, which is concerning since Ivory and the Jets face the Bills, who are a much better run defense. I still like Ivory plenty, but would rather spend my $7,000 on one of the options above this week.
2. Charcandrick West, Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos ($6,400)
West has been dynamic since taking over, but this week he faces the Broncos defense and that is scary enough for me. Even after that horrific showing from the Denver DST against the Colts in Week 9, odds are that they will step back up for Week 10. West is cheap enough but once again I would look elsewhere.
3. Chris Johnson, Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks ($6,800)
Johnson has apparently turned back the clock in 2015 and he could easily snag a touchdown if the Cardinals get in the red zone, but once again, he is facing the Seattle defense which has been stiffening up against the run.
