Welp, Week 11 in the NFL was a colossal disaster. A.J. Green, Giovani Bernard, C.J. Prosise, Zach Miller, Ryan Mathews, Jay Cutler and some other guys I forgot to list all went down with injuries. Our Week 12 Players to Drop piece is a little more difficult than usual because last week’s injuries but rest assured, we’ll find some losers for you to cut bait on.
To start, I’m not dropping A.J. Green in any format until I hear Green himself say he’s done for the season. If there’s a chance he plays in the Fantasy playoffs it’s worth hanging onto him. Prosise, Bernard and Miller can be dropped immediately, if you haven’t already done so. It’s depressing, especially Miller because of how dry the Tight End position has been (that’s what she said).
Jared Goff’s existence makes Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt dropable options as well, which figures, the one good Kenny Britt season Fantasy owners get is now wasted right before the playoffs. Thanks again, Jeff Fisher. Oh, and what coach in the NFL wears their hat backwards during the game? You’re not Ken Griffey Jr. or a 15 year old boy trying to pick up girls at the local … (I have no idea where kids go these days…)
Thanksgiving is coming and much like my Ex-girlfriend’s turkey, Blake Bortles is overdone and dry. His lack of delicious juices is withering the Fantasy value of Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, Julius Thomas, T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory. I’m going to say something no human being has ever said before. Please start Chad Henne!
Ashton Kutcher recently revealed he lived in various Airbnb’s for a year following his divorce of Demi Moore, stating because someone gave him dinner and a glass of wine upon his arrival he was once again able to find happiness. Kutcher is now with Mila Kunis. Every league has a guy like this, complaining because they lost Giovani Bernard and now have to start Rob Kelley while the rest of us lost A.J. Green and have to start Robert Woods.
Week 12 Players to Drop
Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
A.J. Green has been lost for a period of time due to a hamstring injury. Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones are long gone and Giovani Bernard is done for the season. The top receiving weapons for Andy Dalton are Tyler Eifert, Tyler Boyd and Brandon LaFell. Baltimore, Philadelphia and Houston remain on the schedule for the Bengals, which isn’t ideal for a passing game lacking play makers. It’s more than safe to list Dalton in the Week 12 Players to Drop.
Matt Jones, RB, Washington
Last week I said I was going to wait one more week before dropping Jones. That was a mistake, clearly. Fat Rob Kelley has taken the job and literally run with it. If Kelley were to go down I assume Jones would split time with Chris Thompson but most of us don’t have the roster space for that waiting game.
Allen Hurns, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
This has more to do with Blake Bortles than it does Hurns. Bortles has been one of the worst QBs in the NFL this season (no, not Fantasy QB, real life QB) and it’s had a significant impact on both Hurns, Allen Robinson and Julius Thomas. Hurns has just two TDs on the season and faces both Denver and Minnesota in the coming weeks. If you wouldn’t start him in those games, you might as well grab a hot free agent off the wire.
J.J. Nelson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
J.J. Nelson is in fact NOT the next big thing for Arizona. Womp Womp.
