Week 13 used to represent a roller coaster of emotion for Fantasy Football owners. Half of us rejoiced as we watched our teams solidify their playoff standing while the other half invented new combinations of expletives as we watched our teams’ playoff chances crumble like the extra Drake’s Coffee Cake Eddie Lacy keeps in his back pocket. Insert Daily Fantasy Football. The season continues for us all!
The entire Daily Fantasy Football community was drooling over this week’s matchup for Cam Newton. It’s never that easy though, right? Over-analysis paralysis is all too real, but this week Cam was a plug-and-play star. Set it and forget it. Did you play him on FanPicks.com?
Allen Robinson is now one of three players in NFL history to be 23 or younger with 65 receptions, 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns through 12 games. Who are other two? Jerry Rice and Randy Moss. Allen Robinson is money, straight cash, homey.
Julio Jones hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 8 and next week’s face-off is against shut-down specialist Josh Norman. Weekly and Daily Fantasy Football owners are going to be presented with quite a risky proposition, to start or to sit? To play or to fade?
The Ben Roethlisberger-Antonio Brown connection is too good to avoid. If you don’t know what “stacking” means in Daily Fantasy Football, now would be a good time to go look it up.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is truly magical for Fantasy Football owners as he, Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall continue to fly high for the New York Jets. #BelieveInTheBeard
He’s not a sexy name and he doesn’t play for a sexy team but at some point we have to start considering Delanie Walker as a Top 5 tight end play. And oh, that “some point” is right now.
I don’t know what to make of the Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware situation, but now that we can add David Johnson to the Buck Allen and Shaun Draughn list of value plays at running back, there’s no need to jump down the running back by committee rabbit hole.
I don’t know what’s going on with the Aaron Rodgers-Randall Cobb connection, but I can’t see playing Cobb going forward unless it’s in a tournament setting as a contrarian play. There are simply too many Jeremy Maclin, Sammy Watkins and John Brown types out there to take that risk.
Blaine Gabbert is a thing now, I guess…
Week 13 Daily Fantasy Football Review: FanPicks Edition
Week 13 Surprise Performances
Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks
Look at that bad man gettin’ his smoothy on. Russell Wilson is now the No. 1 quarterback in Fantasy Football over the last four weeks. No Jimmy Graham? No problem. Was it the removal of an injured Marshawn Lynch and the insertion of Beast Mode Jr., Thomas Rawls? Is Doug Baldwin now a member of the Recovery Water fan club? With his four-touchdown performance in Week 13 and 13 total touchdowns over his last four games, Wilson is clearly taking his frustration out on opposing defenses and forcing Fantasy owners to consider him as an elite option for the remainder of the season.
Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings
As I scroll down the scoring list from Week 13 to find Adrian Peterson’s name, I’m passing guys like Joique Bell, Kenjon Barner and Mike Gillislee to get there (gross). With his 18-yard performance Sunday, Peterson put up what could possibly be considered the biggest dud of the 2015 Fantasy Football season (Eddie Lacy’s performances aside) and certainly one of the worst games of his illustrious career. Peterson has always been a high-floor, high-upside play but with the Vikings offense sputtering, is Peterson a possible fade going forward?
Jarvis Landry, WR, Miami Dolphins
Jarvis Landry caught two passes for five yards in Week 13. Sunday’s report from the Miami Herald states:
“Landry threw his helmet in anger, vented about the Dolphins’ lifeless offense and needed several teammates to calm him down. Even after that, he was visibly upset for some time.”
