Each week, on Tuesdays, we post the “So-Called” staff’s Week 6 Rankings, which compiles the individual rankings of several different Fantasy Football writers, including Joe Bond, Graham Briggs, Jack Delaney, Sarah Lewis, Chris Meyers and myself. So I post this article as my reaction to the entire group’s Week 6 quarterbacks rankings.
I usually point out some I think are undervalued entering this weekend, and then I also choose a couple that might be overvalued. In other words, I explain why I rank some players higher and some players lower compared to the consensus staff rankings.
Keep an eye out for these “Rankings Reactions” articles, which get posted on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week. Our writers take deeper looks into the group rankings at the other positions. We think this gives you a great overall perspective, mixed with a personal touch for each position.
Vegas is telling us we’re going to see just three games that will total 50 points or more this week. That’s a higher number than we’ve seen from the over/unders over the past four weeks combined.
We also want to remind you to use the “My Playbook” application that connects with all of your Fantasy teams, giving you instant analysis no matter where your league is hosted. This analysis includes, start/sit advice, the best waiver wire pickups and more. It really is a fantastic app!
Week 6 Quarterbacks Rankings Reaction
This is where I look at some of the interesting spots some players ended up getting ranked, with an explanation as to why I like or dislike that player compared to my ranking ranking.
Who I Like More
Matt Ryan, Atlanta at New Orleans
The Saints are brutally bad against the pass this season, allowing nearly two passing touchdowns per game, and only the Chiefs give up more Fantasy points to quarterbacks so far. Ryan’s coming off a bad game, but he did throw for 780 yards and four touchdowns in two games against the Saints last season.
Matt Ryan has a passer rating of 118.8 when throwing to Julio Jones and 34.1 when throwing to Roddy White

Peyton Manning, Denver
Nothing cures the ails of an aging future Hall-of-Fame quarterback like the Cleveland Browns pass defense, especially with CB Joe Haden dealing with a concussion. The only teams giving up more passing touchdowns than the Browns are the Bears, Buccaneers and Chiefs.
Who I Like Less
Russell Wilson, Seattle vs. Carolina
The guy has just one game in which he has thrown for more than one touchdown pass, and he’s not rushing for 40 and 50 yards per game (no rushing touchdowns), and now he faces a Panthers defense that has been resting for a week. I’ll pass.
Marcus Mariota, Tennessee vs. Miami
He had a pretty rough game against the Bills, coming off a bye week, no less, and now he’ll be facing a Dolphins defense that has been revamped over a bye week. With a new head coach and defensive coordinator, I expect more from the front line led by DT Ndamokung Suh.
Russell Wilson: 2nd QB this season to be sacked 6+ times and lose 2 fumbles (Marcus Mariota sacked 7 times and lost 2 fumbles in Week 2)
