Amazingly, we’re into the second half of the Fantasy regular season, and now our Week 8 Fantasy Football rankings are chock full of players we never dreamt of ranking just two months ago.
With six NFL teams on byes this week, the pickings are slim. We’re going to be seeing the rising ownership percentages of players like Cody Kessler, Don Jackson, Russell Shepard and Chester Rogers.
Hopefully, you’ve prepared yourself for this brutal time period, and you have some backup players worth starting in Week 8.
Possibly worse than Week 8 is what Week 9 has in store – a second week of six-team NFL byes! This week, we’re without the 49ers, Dolphins, Giants, Rams, Ravens and Steelers. And one week later, we’re going to be without the Bears, Bengals, Cardinals, Redskins, Patriots and Texans!
Your roster is going to be rotating through personnel like George Steinbrenner. But hopefully, you’ll come out OK on the other side, when there are four teams on byes in Weeks 10 and 11.
As we mentioned, of the teams that are off, there are going to be some ultra-thin position rankings below.
For instance, if you look at the tight end rankings, it’s especially tough sledding. Even the best tight ends that are playing this weekend have some pretty tough matchups. Rob Gronkowski faces the Bills defense, who hasn’t allowed a touchdown to a tight end all season.
Greg Olsen faces a Cardinals defense that’s even tougher against tight ends, and Jason Witten faces and Eagles defense that has allowed a total of 157 receiving yards to tight ends in six games this season. Guys like Cameron Brate and Hunter Henry have starter appeal!
